Hey guys,
I mentioned last week about learning a new song called, "Fire Fall Down" by Hillsong.
Here are the NUMBERS for the chords:
Intro: 1
Verse #1: 1 4 5
Pre-Chorus: 4 5
Chorus #1: 1
Verse #2: 1 4 5
Prechorus: 4 5
Chorus #2: 1 4 1 4 1 4 6 4
Bridge: 1 4 6 4
Get it?? haha its not hard. Theory lesson #1. Check it out:
Every key we play in has its own "scale". These scales are made up of 8 notes. For instance, if we were to play in the key of G, the G scale would be as follows:
G A B C D E F# G
Each note in this scale has a number or scale degree assigned to it. So:
G=1 A=2 B=3 C=4 D=5 E=6 F#=7 G=8
So if we were to play in the key of......F# (key of "Fire Fall Down"), the scale and scale degrees would be as follows:
F#=1 G#=2 A#=3 B=4 C#=5 D#=6 E#orF=7 F#=8
Make sense?
If you can figure this system out, it will make learning songs a TON easier.
We will learn this song Sunday, August 2 at rehearsal. But in the mean time, learn your part!!
And check out 2 Chronicles 7:1-3. This song was inspired by this passage of Scripture.
Thanks guys!
Philip
