Onelife Youth Band Expectations Spring/Summer 2009
1. DEMONSTRATE A LIFESTYLE OF WORSHIP –Those involved in Onelife Youth Band should be catalysts for life with Jesus Christ. This does not mean that you simply know how to look on stage. Spend time in private worship and reflection. Come to each rehearsal and Wednesday night with a sense of expectancy that you will meet God and be changed by Him.
2. UNDERSTAND AND DEMONSTRATE SERVANT LEADERSHIP - Leadership in the Body of Christ is first and foremost a servant role. Leading Worship is not about you, your instrument or your need to be seen. Our common desire must be to usher God’s people into the presence of the Living God.
3. PARTICIPATE IN A SMALL GROUP (SUNDAY SCHOOL) -This is important because the band is not designed to stimulate your personal growth as a Christian like a Small group is. We as a church want you to grow as a person and not just use you as a musician.
4. PARTICIPATE IN INDIVIDUAL REHEARSAL - Each band member will be required to rehearse on their own during the week a minimum of 2 hours a week or whatever time needed to prepare your individual part (not including Sunday rehearsals). Lack of preparation will result in temporary “suspension.”
5. DRESS APPROPRIATLEY - We want to continue to encourage a casual environment. However, we do need some standards for what is appropriate. On Wednesdays as well as any other times you’re playing, please wear LONG pants and a decent shirt. Remember we are trying to avoid drawing attention to ourselves and should dress as such. Modesty is essential. If it’s questionable then don’t wear it.
6. BE PUNCTUAL - Please make every effort to be on time to rehearsals (Sundays @ 2PM) and services (Wednesdays @ 5:15). To play it safe, try to be at rehearsals 5-10 minutes earlier to set-up. This isn’t only a time issue, but a respect issue…and it is a BIG one
